"Compass Points," is a FREE directional panel discussion series on the 3rd Thursday of each month @ 11:30am. It's only one hour in length and think of it as a "Lunch & Learn."

Our goal is to make sure these Compass Points are Educational & Entertaining, providing the tips & tools you need to be happy, safe and successful.

They are designed to provide you with current information to help you right now, and also to prepare & plan for a healthy future.....financially, legally, medically, comfortably, supportively, and pleasurably.

Mark your calendar for the 3rd Thursday of each month and register for any/all of our upcoming series, which have been strategically positioned to easily fit into your schedule.

 

All "Compass Points" will be on the ZOOM platform so you can ask questions of the presenters. Sit back, tune in, and have a bite to eat while we present you, "Compass Points."

Protect Yourself and Your Loved Ones Against Scams & Frauds

We will be joined by representatives of Consumer Protection Washington. Consumer Protection Washington is a collective of state and federal agencies and the BBB, dedicated to educating and altering the public on consumer issues, scams and investigations affecting consumers.

Presenters Bios:

Teresa Glidden has been with the Office of the Secretary of State since 2007, starting with the Elections Division as the Initiative and Referendum Supervisor. In September 2010, she joined the Corporations and Charities Division as the Charities and Nonprofit Education Coordinator for the brand-new education program.  After the education program was well-established, Teresa’s job focus switched to Outreach and Donor education.  She works closely with Consumer Protection Washington, a consortium of state and federal agencies, as well as the Better Business Bureau; all of whom are dedicated to educating and alerting the public on consumer issues, scams and investigations in Washington State.  Teresa lives in Olympia with her husband Ken, and her Bernese Mountain Dogs, Sophie and Stanley.

 

Amy Kerkof is a Postal Inspector assigned to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) Seattle Division Headquarters since 2008.  Prior to joining USPIS, Inspector Kerkof spent over 10 years working at two financial institutions in the Pacific Northwest including over 5 years as a bank fraud investigator. Inspector Kerkof is currently assigned to the Mail Fraud Team where she conducts investigations of numerous criminal enterprises utilizing the US mail to further fraud schemes, including but not limited to mortgage fraud, investment fraud, Ponzi schemes, and elder fraud.

May is National Bike Month & Today We’ll Speak about Cycling Health

Presenters:

We will be joined by associates of Pedego Sequim and they will educate us on what is an E-Bike (electric bike), how do they work, what are their benefits, and who are the ideal E-Bike Riders.  We will also be joined by a member of the non-profit group, Sequim Wheelers, who serve folks with physical challenges and can’t ride a bicycle on their own.  They will let us know how their program works and how to schedule a ride for yourself or a loved one.  There are cycling options out there for all ages and all levels of physicality, learn more about what is available for you today.
