The Time is Now

If you have been considering a move to a retirement or assisted living community, this is the time to start shopping!

Right now, across our region, there is a wide selection of apartment sizes and types from which a person can choose, especially if they are a “private pay” resident who does not need a community with a contract for Medicaid. Because there is a lot to choose from, many communities are also offering generous move-in specials.

Dining rooms are re-opening.  Visitation inside the building is beginning to happen again.  Activities are reimagined to keep residents safe with social distancing.  For many buildings, the safety precautions have kept residents and staff alike free from Covid-19 infections, and the new steps forward toward this “re-opening” of Long Term Care are all designed to keep everyone safe.

Tours are also possible again, making looking at your options that much easier.  You can call your local communities directly to schedule your tour. They will have protocols specific to their community, and will talk with you about their rules.  There are many who have created virtual tours and helpful electronic information sheets that can be sent via email, too, to help you get the answers you need.

The holidays are coming – and so is winter weather.  If you have put off making a decision to move, now is the time to make that phone call.  Moving in the snow, or after a fall on an icy sidewalk, can be a brutal experience.   Choose your new apartment, settle in for a joyful holiday season, and become the newest member of the family.  Your new community will welcome you with open arms and will provide you with the safety and security you need, and the lifestyle you want.
