Right now is a time of uncertainty with COVID-19 for all of us.

Our leaders are making decisions to help minimize the spread of the virus.

Our healthcare workers are tirelessly providing care for our loved ones.

We all need to do our part, and Social Distancing is a great way to slow down the spread of the virus.

Our communities are demonstrating Acts of Kindness for others...volunteering to help a neighbor with groceries...trying to support local businesses from going under...Activity Directors in our Long Term Care communities figuring out new ways to engage their residents while visitations are restricted.

If you look for beauty you will find it.

During this Healthcare Crisis, Compass & Clock wants to provide you & your families with a Daily Affirmation, a "Silver Lining." Something that is positive, encouraging, and helpful. We will post once a day in the morning.

If you have a Silver Lining Story, Virtual Activity or Event, a Joke, FB post, YouTube Video, etc. please do share with me and I will post in this section for all of our readers (email me at compassandclockmc@gmail.com)

Flying in a New Future for Seattle NHL!

The new "crown ID" signage for Climate Pledge Arena will be installed in the coming months. Amazon, NHL Seattle and Oak View Group announced a partnership June 25 to name the building "Climate Pledge Arena" and make it the first net zero-carbon certified arena in the world. Amazon and the Global Optimism organization founded The Climate Pledge in 2019, calling on companies to be net zero-carbon across their businesses by 2040-a decade ahead of the Paris Agreement, which was signed in 2016 by 195 nations committing to a target carbon-neutral date of 2050.

"Music Where You Park"

Brought to you by KSQM FM 91.5 radio station.

Think of summer nights at the drive-in theater when you piled a bunch of folks in the car (or maybe snuck a few in the trunk) and watched movies under the stars. Well, with the thought of social distancing ever in our minds, KSQM FM 91.5 has come up with this ingenious idea to continue the great Sequim Summer tradition of "Music in the Park."

Each Tuesday for 10 weeks (started on June 23), KSQM will present an interview of one of your favorite bands at 6PM. There will be 10 different locations with adequate safe parking and they've checked out each location to make sure that the reception is excellent. Everyone can turn on their car radios full blast and enjoy the program in their cars, together but apart.

As an added bonus, there will be free drawings for prizes. Winners will be drawn and announced live over KSQM at 7PM. The ticket holder then calls KSQM to claim their prize. Folks who want to participate in the drawing must be at the Music Where You Park site by 6:30 PM.

Entering Phase Free: your guide to Corona-proof fun at BPA!

Dear Friends,

Back in April we announced the “Season of Hope and Change at BPA” - hoping that we would have a season that commenced in the fall of 2020 but knowing that plans might change. Today we announce the first change: we will not be producing new MainStage or Symphony performances before the end of the year. Productions of A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder and Elf: The Musical will not proceed as planned. Fear not; if you know us, you know that something as simultaneously microscopic and utterly enormous as a virus can’t keep us down! Instead of traditional productions, and in keeping with our theme, we intend to offer the following:

  • Fun Home will receive a limited run if there is a window of time in which it is safe to produce it this fall or winter. The set remains on stage and the performers are now the longest rehearsed of any show we’ve ever produced!

  • Improv, concerts, quartets, and other events will pop-up outdoors, with masks and significant social distancing indoors, or even on livestream when it is safe for performers and audiences alike. Check our eblasts, social media, and website regularly late this summer and fall for updates since these may come and go in a flash!

  • And now, the biggest news of all: we’re launching the Bainbridge Pod Accomplice - your new friend in quarantine! Starting in September, we’ll be launching a free podcast featuring a regular series of different plays starring your favorite local performers and directors. There will be comedy, tragedy, friends, and music (including local bands and the BSO) - everything you love about coming to a show but with sweatpants and no line for the restroom! Stay tuned for updates coming very soon.

Ultimately, we don’t know what the coronavirus has in store for all of us this fall and winter, so we’re delighted to be able to plan for something you can count on. We hope you’ll lend your voices and your ears to this exciting new venture. Whether we’re six feet, six miles, or six continents apart, this community can still find a way to be together and we’re here to help: as your creative neighborhood accomplice for surviving these strange and trying times. We hope we’ll be back to “normal” again in 2021, but until then - we can do this. Together.

With love,

Dominique Cantwell & Team BPA

PS: If you have enjoyed the Bainbridge Stay at Home Companion or, if you missed it and want to join in on the fun, episodes are available here.

Day 106 Daily Affirmation - July 1st

Saw this on a friend's FB page yesterday.

"My wife didn't order anything from AMAZON yesterday, so the UPS guy knocked on our door to see if we were okay."

That's pretty funny.

Day 105 Daily Affirmation - June 30th

Some people say… if life gives you lemons, make lemonade, which pretty much sums up the concept of resilience. Although some may believe that resilience is a trait, it is rather a way of thinking, paying attention, and behaving that anyone can learn.

Here are some of the key aspects of resilience:

  1. Nurture relationships - find a way to connect with family and friends.

  2. Be decisive - make decisions and take action rather than hoping things will get better one day.

  3. Accept that change is part of living - flexibility is the name of the game.

  4. Be compassionate to yourself - hold the intention not to judge yourself or others and even if you do …try not to judge yourself for judging.

Last but not least, avoid seeing crisis as insurmountable. You can’t change the fact that very stressful events happen, but you can learn to change your response to that.

Day 104 Daily Affirmation - June 29th

Sweaty Face Masks? 5 Tips to Keep Cool While Covered Up - Staying Safe & Comfortable as Temperatures Rise.

1.) Choose the right fabric - A light, breathable material like cotton will likely keep your face cooler than medical and N95 masks made from synthetic materials, and in the right configuration can be effective in preventing contagion

2.) Keep it Dry - Cotton traps less air and moisture than standard medical and industrial masks, and it's more absorbent, but if it gets damp due to breathing and sweating it can be less effective in filtering respiratory particles, not to mention uncomfortable and abrasive to the skin.

3.) Time Trips to Beat the Heat - Avoid going out at the hottest parts of the day and for extended periods. Stop at home between errands if you can, to cool off and doff your mask. When you do have to be out, stay well-hydrated and seek the shade.

4.) Skip the Makeup - Heat and perspiration mixed with makeup or oily skin care products makes for a gunky mess under your mask. “You don't have the ability to have sweat evaporate when you have the mask on. It all sits there and collects,” says Kovarik, the dermatology professor.

5.) Bring a Spare - If you can't keep your mask from getting icky and sticky, there's no better remedy than swapping it for another. “I recommend people do that anyway,” whatever the weather, Poland says. “When you're outside with the mask on, that mask has a limited lifespan."

Day 100 Daily Affirmation - June 25th

Got an email from my dad today.  Here's a joke that he said is one of my Mom's favorite to tell.  Wish she was here to tell it to all of us (she passed away from Alzeimer's 11/23/15) because she was a great joke teller.

This was one of my Italian bride's favorite ethnic jokes. She carried it off with a pretty fair brogue.

How to get to Heaven from Ireland. A  true Story from an Irish Sunday School Teacher.

I was testing  children in my Dublin Sunday school class to see if they understood the  concept of getting to heaven.
'I asked them, ' If I sold my house and  my car, had a big garage sale and gave all my money to the church, would  that get me into heaven?'
'NO!' the children answered.
'If I  cleaned the church every day, mowed the garden, and kept everything tidy,  would that get me into heaven?'
Again, the answer was  'NO!'
'If I gave sweets to all the children, and loved my husband,  would that get me into heaven?'
Again, they all answered  'NO!'
I was just bursting with pride for them. I continued, 'Then how  can I get into heaven?'
A little boy shouted out: 'YUV GOTTA BE  FOOKN' DEAD.'

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL YOU DADS OUT THERE!  A big shout out to my dad, James Fisher. 85 yrs old and going strong.  Love you Daddy.

Here's just a few quotes that ring so true.

  • “Dad: A son's first hero, a daughter's first love.” — ...

  • “The power of a dad in a child's life is unmatched.” — ...

  • “It is a wise father that knows his own child.” — ...

  • “One father is more than a hundred schoolmasters.” — ...

Day 95 Daily Affirmation - June 20th

Here's a few jokes I received from my 85 year old ather this week.  It gave me a chuckle and hope it gives you one too.

A distraught senior citizen phoned her doctor's office.

"Is it true," she wanted to know, that the medication  you prescribed has to be taken for the rest of my life?"

"'Yes, I'm afraid so,"' the doctor told her.

There was a moment of silence before the senior lady replied, "I'm wondering, then, just how serious is my condition because this prescription is  marked 'NO REFILLS' "

An older gentleman was on the operating table awaiting surgery and he insisted that his son, a renowned surgeon, perform the operation. As he was about to get the anesthesia, he asked to speak to his son.

"Yes, Dad, what is it?"

"Don't be nervous, son; do your best, and just remember, if it doesn't go well, if something happens to me, your mother is going to come and live with you and your wife...."

Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start bragging about it. This is so true. I love to hear them say: "You don't look that old."

Kitsap County Parks is taking the following steps to get athletic user groups back on the fields in a safe and healthy manner:

  • Adding signage to encourage safe social distancing for participants and spectators

  • Adding field markers and buffer zones to assist teams with social distancing while practicing

Great News! The 2020 Rotary Auction & Rummage Sale is going Online!!!

2020 marks what would have been the 60th Rotary Auction and Rummage Sale on Bainbridge Island. Every year, the money raised has been given out to nonprofits, community projects, and global humanitarian assistance. While the pandemic has prevented us from holding the sale in person, the needs it funds have not gone away. In fact nonprofits, like all businesses, are struggling to figure out how to survive and shape the new normal going forward. It is more critical than ever to provide funding to support those efforts.

The Rotary Club of Bainbridge Island has committed to continue funding those efforts as much as possible through our strongest method, the Auction and Rummage Sale. While we cannot meet in person to exchange our goods and raise money, teams of the club have been working hard on an alternative – an Online Auction and Rummage Sale. The goal is to have a much scaled-down collection of items to sell online, always with the lens of safety for our families, friends and neighbors.

How will it work? We will accept a smaller quantity of larger donated items and then sell them online to interested buyers. We are working now on the logistics and intricacies of such a sale to ensure that donors and buyers have a good experience and the club raises money to distribute where needed. So hang on to those items that you were planning to bring to the sale this year and let’s see how many of them can be recycled and reused in this online version of our annual sale.

Thank you! We thank you for your contributions past and present and look forward to rolling out the 2020 Rotary Online Auction and Rummage Sale at the end of the summer. Hopefully, we will be back live, in person in 2021.

A Short Prayer for the Fallen on Memorial Day.

Psalm 27:3-4 says, "Though an army besieges me, my heart will not fear; though war breaks out against me, even then I will be confident. One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple." Today we bow our heads and our hearts to you, Lord, that we may remember those who paid the ultimate price by giving their lives for their country. We can never be grateful enough for the sacrifices made for our country and we are humbled by their willingness to put their own lives aside for the benefit of ours. Father, carve their sacrifices onto our hearts that we may never forget the loss of these heroes. We pray for this in the holy name of your son Jesus. Amen.

Is Major League Baseball going to have a season in 2020. It looks hopeful. Fingers Crossed.

"With owners giving approval on May 11 to Major League Baseball's proposal to begin the 2020 season amid the coronavirus pandemic, negotiations are now ongoing between the league and Players Association.

The goal is to begin a second spring training of sorts around June 10 and for Opening Day to be around July 1, meaning the league and players have a finite amount of time to reach an agreement."

If you haven’t seen this lovely video that is inspiring the world, it's worth four minutes of your time.  Afterwards, spend some time thinking about the POSITIVE lessons you’ve been learning about yourself, your family, and the world through the experience of Covid-19. Then, pledge to KEEP these lessons a priority even once the quarantine is lifted.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful if indeed we are all in the midst of the first Great Realization?

Day 56 Daily Affirmation - May 12th

Today's post is a "mindful monday," from Ginka Conrey, LMSW, with Encore Communities. Ginka wants to share one of her favorite quotes which encompasses the fluidity of life, our perseverance, our ability to choose how we look at the ever changing circumstances around us, and ultimately how through mindfulness we can attain an appreciation for life as it is.

"Life is amazing.

And then it's awful.

And then it's amazing again.

And in between the amazing

and the awful it's ordinary

and mundane, and routine.

Breathe in the amazing,

hold on through the awful,

and relax and exhale during the ordinary.

That's just living, heart-breaking,

soul-healing, amazing, awful,

ordinary life.

And it's breathtakingly beautiful."

                          L.R. Knost

Make it a mindful monday!

Re-Opening Outdoor Recreation - let's be smart and help make this work! We've been doing great so far.  Remember we're in this Together and we're Better Together.

Governor Inslee announced on Monday 4/27 a partial re-opening of some outdoor recreation activities.

As of Tuesday, May 5, some outdoor recreation will be allowed with appropriate safety precautions, including: fishing; hunting; playing golf; and day use at state parks, state public lands managed by the Department of Natural Resources and at state Fish and Wildlife areas.

“Outdoor recreation is one of the best things we can do to promote physical, mental and emotional well-being for Washingtonians during a time of great stress and isolation," Inslee said. "And springtime in our state is Washington at its best and people want to be out enjoying outdoor activities in a safe and responsible way.

“If we see a sharp uptake in the number of people who are getting sick or are not following appropriate steps, then we won’t hesitate to scale this back again. This is not a return to normal. This is only a beginning phase of relaxing outdoor recreation restrictions.”

Day 23 Daily Affirmation - April 9th

Today's Daily Affirmation my friend Betty at the Gig Harbor Senior Center shared this with me.  Thought I would pass it along to give everyone a good laugh. Thanks Betty :)

  • Since everyone has started washing their hands, as they should have been doing all along, next week let's work on using turn signals.

  • If we keep the schools closed much longer, mothers will find a cure for the virus before scientists.

  • A neighbor's house got rolled with toilet paper this weekend and increased the house's value by $30,000.

  • We heard that some people who used to spin the toilet paper roll like they were on Wheel of Fortune, now turn it like they were trying to crack a safe.

  • Someone told me all I needed to go to the grocery store was a mask and gloves, but they lied: everyone else had on clothes.

  • A friend asked if it was okay to pull the bag out of a box of wine and stab a straw in it like a giant, adult Capri Sun.

  • Those who bought dryer sheets when they could not find toilet paper have found their fannies now smell like lavender, there is no more static electricity, and for the first time in 20 years, their butts are wrinkle free.

  • We have a lot of sympathy for all those married men who have spent years telling their wives "I'll do that when I have time."

  • We asked our four-year-old grandson if he knew why there was no school right now and he said "because there is no toilet paper."

  • If you need to find motivation to stay at home, shave your eyebrows off.

  • We trust all the critical people around will be generous enough to remember, when swimsuit season rolls around, that the gyms were closed during Reese's peanut butter egg and hollow milk chocolate bunny season.

  • Quarantine is wearing pajamas all day, showering, and changing into new pajamas.

  • It is actually fun to stay at home, but we wonder why one bag of rice has 7,456 grains of rice and the other one only had 7,398?

  • We may be about three weeks away from knowing everyone's true hair color.

Day 22 Daily Affirmation - April 8th

Day 21 Daily Affirmation - April 7th

Day 14 Daily Affirmation - March 31st

Hi! Mary Coupland here. Owner & Founder of Compass & Clock. I happen to be a mom of a senior and a junior at Bainbridge HS.

I know there are a lot of you out there who have seniors too, so this Daily Affirmation is for you & your Senior, and there will be others you will see me post, saluting and praising our Senior Class of 2020.

Our current healthcare crisis will not keep this very special group of students down. I am extremely impressed with how they are dealing with the uncertainties placed before them. Yes, they will face disappointments, but they are resilient. Their achievements & disappointments will not go unrecognized. They will rise up and we will acknowledge and celebrate them. We will all find a way together to hold up this Class of 2020.  They are our future & I am so very proud of all of them.

So today let us acknowledging one of the Seniors at Bainbridge High School, Faith.

Faith won the National Scholastic Silver Medal of Distinction with $1,000 scholarship.

She has been recognized out of 320,000 national entrants and her work will be displayed in New York with an awards ceremony at Carnegie Hall.

Faith spends most of her time behind the lens creating amazing wildlife and nature photos when she is not working to earn money for camera equipment.

Her proud mama shared some amazing images on the BHS Class of 2020 Parents FB page and I grabbed a few of them to share with all of you.

There's Beauty if you look for it. Faith did. Enjoy!

Feel Free to send me HS Senior Silver Lining / Daily Affirmation Stories to post :)

Day 13 Daily Affirmation - March 30th

Today's Daily Affirmation is from Pam Duerr of Encore Communities. She received this from Ginka Conrey, LMSW, a social worker with her company.

Although schools have closed, events have been cancelled, many of us are working from home, or have altered schedules, our routines have been thrown in haywire and the news media releases update upon update, all adding to a building sense of anxiety, remember… Keep your mind in check and find a purpose to create a sense of certainty.

Every thought that enters the mind eventually finds a place in the body where it bears the burden. Your mindset during this crisis is everything. Your perspective is the most powerful thing you can control in a situation that is beyond your control.

Yes, these disruptions are scary, but fear, panic and worry are not preparation. They add insult to injury—another layer of stress that can compromise the immune system and paradoxically make us even more vulnerable to the virus.

Here are some quick mindful techniques that we can all add into our day-to-day schedules to be not just physically but also mentally ready and prepared for this state of uncertainty:

Manage your media diet: bear in mind that there is a fine line between staying informed and feeling overwhelmed by the news, so change the channel and catch up on a new series or read a book, get off of social media.

Stick to a routine: maybe it is not the routine you had a week ago but create a schedule for yourself and find a purpose.

Look out for others and don’t isolate: despite the fact that your life may feel out of control right now focus your mind and efforts on things that are within your control. In addition to washing your hands and avoiding close contact with those who are sick and/or taking proper precautions remember to check on your loved ones, your neighbors and use technology to connect with others not to isolate ourselves.

So in addition to washing our hands, we need to cleanse our minds to offset catastrophic thinking.

Day 12 Daily Affirmation - March 29th

Today's Daily Affirmation is dedicated to our Senior Housing Communities personnel. They are compassionate, creative and they deeply care about YOUR loved ones.  Thank you girls for sharing with me so I can brighten someone else's day :)

First from Courtney Myers, Senior Living Expert at Gig Harbor Court Independent & Assisted Living, a Pegasus Senior Living Community.

The Senior Housing Communities are getting creative on new ways to engage their residents while keeping up with social distancing

Daily Affirmation:  Our new song…

Sung to chorus of “Come On Eileen…”

“COVID-19- wash your hands and stay clean…

We protect and we serve….

Gig Harbor Court’s a great team!”

Second from Beth Pratt, Community Relations Director, and during these past few weeks she's also been wearing the hat of Activities Director.

"Essay from A Senior Housing Community"

By Beth Pratt

As the rules have shifted slowly to stretch our distance from each other, further isolating our seniors in nursing and assisted living communities, those of us who work in senior housing have experienced amazing acts of kindness from our home towns. From donations of electronics to low income seniors to pen pals writing cards to residents, senior communities are feeling the love from their neighbors. Those of us at Village Concepts of Port Angeles, Park View Villas, both residents and staff, have certainly benefited from our neighbor’s kindnesses.

Day 10 Daily Affirmation - March 27th

A good friend, Laurie Rice shared this video on her FB page.  I really enjoyed the song. Loved the melody and the message is powerful and simple. Let's continue to support and uplift each other. One of the best things we can do is stay home to help slow down the spread of the virus.

Day 9 Daily Affirmation - March 26th

Today's Daily Affirmation is from Lisa Kemmerling, Image Consultant of Clean Lines Fashion. She has great advice for your new "norm" as you work remotely and visually online.

Feeling good, while looking great are essential during the Covid-19 outbreak.  Some may say it's not important, especially since we're working from our homes on a Zoom call - I say it's important to keep things as you'd normally do for a meeting.  When going on a Zoom call where others will see you - Ladies, if you normally do your hair, wear makeup and dress for a meeting, then by all means continue to do so, guys if you normally wear a jacket or tie to a meeting, don't give that up.

There have been studies that show working from home should be the same as if you would be out in person.  Remember looking good, helps you to feel good, which in turn inspires creativity.   Happy Styling..........

Bringing out authenticity and style in you!!

Day 8 Daily Affirmation - March 25th

Today's Daily Affirmation is from my best friend Sally.  Sally and her husband Tony had the pleasure of being a guest at 40 Winks in London when their daughter Morgan was doing a semester of college there.  During the next 2 weeks here's a way to help our small businesses.

We said goodbye to our last guests at 40 Winks this morning. They are flying back to Canada. It was a sad moment as it is difficult to know when we will see any more. Every single booking we had for the next two months has now been cancelled, and most of our bookings for June and beyond have been cancelled too amidst all the uncertainty. We completely understand the reasons why people have decided to do this, but having to issue refunds for many £1000s with no prospect of any money coming in for the next few months has been pretty scary.

There are many people here who are going to be in a worse situation than us so I think we should all try and find simple ways of supporting each other through these difficult and stressful times.

We have hosted thousands of guests here at 40 Winks since we opened in March 2009, not just those who came to stay at the hotel but lots and lots of you who came to enjoy one of our lovely events.

If you now have a little spare time on your hands, what would be incredibly helpful for us, and lots of other small businesses around the world, is if you could find few minutes to share your best and fondest memories on Tripadvisor and other review platforms.

If we all show our support for the places we love, then when things do finally start to return to normal, hopefully it will make it a little bit easier for the small businesses that might otherwise go under.

I am planning to write one review every day for the foreseeable future… sharing my love for the cafes, shops, restaurants and galleries that have given me so much pleasure over the years. I would encourage you all to do the same! It costs nothing to do, and just seeing these messages of support will help encourage those struggling to carry on.

Day 7 Daily Affirmation - March 24th

Today's Daily Affirmation is from Acupuncture & Wellness Center in Poulsbo. Bob Doane spoke about "What are Viruses, and how can Traditional Chinese Medicine Support You?" on a online FB Live Video.  AWC has shared the link with me so I could share it with all of you.  Stay Happy & Healthy.

Day 6 Daily Affirmation - March 23rd

Today's Daily Affirmation is from Lisa Valdes of Franciscan Hospice & Palliative Care

Though I am not a provider myself and not doing any direct patient care or visits, I am immensely grateful for all the Health Care Workers that are working alongside some of our most ill and fragile population.  It takes courage, personal sacrifice, dedication and love to continue to show up each day and serve. It’s humbling for me to observe and the strength that we are gaining by joining together in this compassionate mission is invaluable.

Each day, our organization puts out a reflection.  This was today’s message.

“Faith can give us courage to face the uncertainties of the future.”

Day 5 Daily Affirmation - March 22nd

Who can resist these images. Good for a little laugh or a warm fuzzy feeling. Received an email from a friend today with these heartwarming pictures.  Funny thing is, it's a typical email my dad sends me.  So it was great that I was able to forward the email to my dad and share it with him.  Enjoy and I hope these put a smile on your face.

Day 4 Daily Affirmation - March 21st

Today's Daily Affirmation is from Carrie McBride the Director of Marketing & Communications with the Alzheimer's Association of Western WA.

Our team met yesterday via video conferencing and each person was asked to share one word. The message was clear: We are all in this together and you are not alone!

Our helpline is available 24/7 and many of our support groups are now being offered over the phone or online.

We're always here, whenever you need us: 1.800.272.3900 or alzwa.org

Day 3 Daily Affirmation - March 20th

Day #3's Daily Affirmation is a FRIENDLY REMINDER from Dana Gargus, the Kitsap County Ombudsman. She asks that you PLEASE REMEMBER to submit your 2020 Census by April 1st 2020.

You will receive a letter in the mail, and you can go on line and take care of this for you and your family in just a few minutes. I did my family's today.

By providing basic information about all adults, children, and babies living or staying at your address the Results from the 2020 Census will be used to:

  • Direct Billions of Dollars in Federal Funds to Local Communities for Schools, Roads, and other Public Services

  • Help Your Community prepare to meet transportation and emergency readiness needs

  • Determine the number of seats each state has in the U.S. House of Representatives and your political representation of all levels of government.

Thanks for everyone doing their part!!

Day 3 - Part II

There's so many wonderful, inspiring Silver Linings to share with all of you, that I couldn't limit today to just one affirmation.

Beth Pratt is the Community Relations Director, and temporarily is also wearing the Activities Director Hat.  Here's what Beth would love to share with all of you.  I am looking forward to receiving similar links from the other Compass & Clock Senior Living Communities.

Beth said, "I love where I live, and I love where I work. When the residents heard the pipes calling, they came out to the balcony for the performance. I cannot thank our local musical friends who are stepping up to help keep spirits high at Park View Villas!"

With the local Senior Housing Communities not allowing any visitation right now, the communities have to get resourceful on how to keep their residents engaged and entertained.  Beth reached out to local musician in Port Angeles and I am thrilled to share this musical moment with all of you. Enjoy! ~ Mary

Day 2 Daily Affirmation - March 19th

Dayaalu Center is a community of students, teachers and healers on Bainbridge Island that support one another in leading healthy, meaningful lives and building strong, loving communities. Dayaalu, pronounced dye-AWE-lu, means compassion in action in Sanskrit.

They offer yoga, meditation, qigong, chanting, pilates, music, nutrition, and more!

Sounds like just what the "doctor ordered," a yoga session to help you breath, relax, enjoy the moment, all within the comfort of your own home, and another Social Distancing Activity, enabling you to still do what you love.

Thank you Sue and team for making these beautiful videos and sharing with others. Your creativity and compassion for others is evident in all you do.

Click on the link below and enjoy the different yoga videos. There's something for everyone, there's even CHAIR YOGA!

Day 1 Daily Affirmation - March 18th

Get outside and enjoy the sunshine.  Social Distancing doesn't have to keep you locked inside. Use this time to explore those walking or biking trails you've been meaning to discover but never seemed to have the time.  No matter your age, there's something here for everyone.

Here's a few to check out:

The Olympic Discovery Trail - this starts in the Victorian Seaport of Port Townsend and ends at the Pacific Ocean, traveling through Sequim, Port Angeles, and other areas.
